GERM 1     ELEMENTARY GERMAN

This course is an introduction to the German language and German cultures.  Emphasis is placed on the following skills in the order given: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

GERM 2     ELEMENTARY GERMAN

Units: 5
Prerequisites: Successful completion of GERM 1 or 52.
Limitations on Enrollment: None.
Advisories: None.

This course is an introduction to the German language and German cultures.  Emphasis is placed on the following skills in the order given: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  The combined five units of GERM 51 and 52 are equivalent to GERM 1.

GERM 3     INTERMEDIATE GERMAN

Units: 5
Prerequisites: Successful completion of GERM 2 or 54.
Limitations on Enrollment: None.
Advisories: None.

This course is designed to offer continued study of the German language and German cultures.  Efforts to improve reading and composition skills are based on both contemporary and traditional selection.
(UC, CSU, CAN GERM 8, CAN GERM Seq B with both GERM 3 and 4)
 

 
GERM 4     INTERMEDIATE GERMAN

Prerequisites: Presentation of a project acceptable to the instructor and the division chairperson; GERM 4 with grade of "B" or better.
