Why choose our Kinesiology program?
Kinesiology is the study of the role of movement in the human body and how it works in sport activities. The primary focus of the kinesiology faculty is the education of students toward lifelong development of physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially fit human beings through physical activities. The following courses are offered in support of this goal:
Kinesiology programs are usually found at colleges and universities; they include bachelors, masters, and doctoral degree programs. Students who plan to teach physical education in elementary, middle or secondary schools may need to obtain a California Teaching Credential.
What are the degree options?
Those who are pursuing a career may choose to complete a certificate or an Associate in Arts degree and then transfer to a California State University (CSU) with a major in kinesiology.
What can I do with my degree?
Programs in kinesiology are designed to prepare the student for jobs in Sports Medicine, Coaching, Teaching, Wellness, Personal Training, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Biomechanics, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Ergonomics, Corporate Fitness, Sports Management, Athletic Administration, Sports Broadcasting, Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology and Sports Officiating.
