The past few years at Delta College have forced all of us into the throes of change with no regard as to how interested, willing, or ready we were to face those changes. Just a few examples tell the tale: in fewer than four years, we have had three major transitions in the top tiers of administrative leadership; we are mired in the uncertain, dramatic and painful changes brought about by the State's unprecedented budget crises, and we wait to see what challenges our new governor has in store.
In order for us, the Campus Community, to move forward with courage and commitment, we need to develop a strategic plan that outlines a positive future for our College. To that end, Dr. Rodriguez has formed an Ad Hoc Strategic Planning Team (We call ourselves. The Delta Group and our task, Our Vision for theFuture.). Dr. Rodriguez is committing the necessary resources to support this integrated strategic planning effort and has sponsored Appreciative Inquiry training for the Delta Group to provide a positive framework for strategic planning development. A significant part of Appreciative Inquiry methodology is the interview process. |

This interview process seeks to uncover what is best in our College so we can create more of it.
Over the next few weeks, you may be approached by a member of The Delta Group or by someone else who has already been interviewed. The interviews take about 35 minutes, and the comments that your interviewer collects will be used to shape the vision, the mission statement, and the strategic goals for our College for the next few years. All comments from the interviews will be anonymous names will not be attached to any of the stories, suggestions, examples, or comments you make. If someone contacts you for an interview, we hope you will agree to participate. If you WANT to be interviewed but have not been contacted, please e-mail or call me at x5398, and I will make arrangements for someone to interview you.
