Directed by Valerie Gnassounou-Bynoe

April 17 & 18 ~ 8pm
Warren Atherton Auditorium
Tickets: $12-Adults / $10-Students and Seniors

The Dance Department and the Yameci Dance Company invite you to attend Delta’s 2015 Spring Dance Concert, “World Wind”, directed and choreographed by the Elly and Willie award-winning Valerie Gnassounou-Bynoe.  This dance program is an exciting suite that tackles specific issues that have led to a change in our community at large or in the world. Whether the change is social, political, psychological or other, we use the medium of dance to tell the story. This dance production transports us to various places (The South; Berlin-Germany), engages us with psychological theories (Maslow’s motivation of human needs), displays the connection of the animal world to the Ballet realm, and last portrays the contribution of dance as self expression.  Many layers to this dance production are to keep us on our toes and entertained.

Guest artists from San Francisco, Lodi and Stockton have collaborated and composed for our students: Yameci Dance company; Alexei Badrack from International Ballet Theater institute and Urban Jazz Dance Company under the direction of Antoine Hunter, Deaf dance artist and President of the Bay Area Deaf Dance Festival.
