I got my start in the business at 16 and by 18 I was managing a women's clothing store while finishing my senior year of high school. Throughout college, I had the opportunity to learn the ropes of the small business and all that was entrepreneurship.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design, and Fashion, and worked in both residential and commercial interior design. These experiences allowed me to enter into the lucrative world of retail store design and visual merchandising.
Having worked for The Limited, among other retailers, I was recruitted to their Express division as the West Coast Director of Visual Merchandising, where I was able to develop my skills in training store managers and staff on visual standards, work on site negotiation, and work with the architects on the retail design concepts for the company.
After working with several large retail firms, I opened my own clothing store and was able to apply all of my experience and knowledge into a successful and thriving business.
With over 18 years in the Fashion Industry, I bring with me an invaluable content of professional experience and knowledge to the program.
My areas of expertise are Visual Merchandising, Retail Store Design, Fashion Marketing and Advertising, Inventory Management and Resource Management, as well as Interior Design.
The combination of experience in both Fashion and Interior Design have provided me with the opportunity to continue in the industry as a Retail Consultant, working with both large and small firms in all aspects of the business, as well as residential and interior design, product development, marketing, promotion, business development, and branding.
I strive to bring this knowledge into the classroom to the students and to bring the students out of the classroom into the industry! |
