Mustangs advance to State Tournament for the 12th consecutive year.

The Delta College volleyball team advanced to the state tournament at Fresno Pacific University by defeating Foothill College in four games. The state tournament will begin Friday November 30th, and the Mustangs will play College of the Canyons at 5:30pm. Both how the Mustangs advanced to the tournament and directions to Fresno Pacific are listed below.

From the south...
Travel north on Highway 99 to Fresno. Take the Malaga/Chestnut Avenue exit and proceed north on Chestnut 3.5 miles to Hamilton Street. Turn right (east) on Hamilton. The campus is on the left (north) side of Hamilton. Parking is available in the Steinert Field lot at the southeast corner of Hamilton and Winery.

From the north...
Travel south on Highway 99 to Fresno. Take the "To 41 North" exit (which is the new 180 Kings Canyon Highway) east about 5 miles to Chestnut Avenue. Turn right (south) on Chestnut and travel about two miles. Turn left (east) on Hamilton. The campus is on the left (north) side of the street. Parking is available in the Steinert Field lot at the southeast corner of Hamilton and Winery.

 

Mustangs make state for 13th year

The women's volleyball team has been a perennial powerhouse in the State for the past 25 years and especially in Northern California.  In the past 25 seasons they have recorded an 82% win/loss record with 736 wins and 148 losses.  In that time they have recorded first place in their conference a total of 17 times, second place three times, and third place six times.  They have participated in the prestigious California State Championships thirteen times placing in the top 3 in ten of the past thirteen seasons. 

In the past seven seasons Delta has turned out seven All-Americans.  As a result of participating in the volleyball program at Delta College many players have gone on to compete at the Division I, II and III levels including the University of the Pacific, Long Beach State, University of Oregon, UNLV, Cal Poly SLO, Weber State, St. Mary's College, University of Wyoming, Cal State Fullerton, San Jose State University, Fordham University, and Eastern Tennessee to name a few.
