San Joaquin Delta College honored longtime softball Coach Bucky Layland by dedicating the new softball complex in her name on Saturday, April 16th, 2011.

Delta College Softball is a member of the very competitive Big 8 Conference. In the past nine seasons, the Lady Mustangs have won conference championship 4 times, competed in the State Tournament 3 times earning 4th and 5th places, seven players earned All-American and three All-State honors.
The Bucky Layland Softball Complex
The Delta Softball Team began play in 2009 on its newly renovated synthetic FIELDturf facility. The field features 44 ft. dugouts, handicapped seating, 500 bleacher seats, 2 visitor bullpens, 2 home bullpens, 2 batting tunnels with pitching machines, and a powerful watering system which is used to cool the turf on those hot days.
