Head Coach, Van Sweet

Van Sweet is in his 20th season as the Men’s Golf Coach at Delta.  His teams have gone on to be league champions seven of those seasons. In 1990 and 1997 his teams placed second at State.  Before coming to Delta, Coach sweet coached Sweet coached at the University of the Pacific for 11 years where he coached Basketball, Baseball and Golf.  Coach Sweet was a counselor and health education instructor at Delta until his retirement in 1983.  At Delta, he coached Men’s Tennis, Softball, and Women’s Basketball.  Returning in 1988 to coach the Men’s Golf team.  Coach Sweet has a Master’s degree in Physical Education from the College of the Pacific.
