Personal: Tempest was born on May 22 1990 to Louie and Shawna Gallagher Dawson in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She has 4 siblings whose names are Tyra (6), Tessa (5), Louie Jr. (3), and Blaine (2). When Tempest is not playing basketball, she enjoys spending time with her family. Tempest would like to major in Molecular Biology and after Delta wants to go to a 4-year university. Her goal is to go to Medical School and pursue a career in the Medical Field.

Prep Career: Tempest played for Coach Chris Bauer at Weston Ranch High School in 2007-08 as a senior.  At Weston Ranch she was named her team MVP (offense) and was named to the Valley Oak Leauge 1st Team.  She was a four-year Varsity volleyball and softball player.  Tempest was named to the Manteca Bulletin All-Area Basketball Team and given Athlete of the Week honors during her senior year.  Before attending Weston Ranch, Tempest had a very successful career in sports (basketball, volleyball, and softball) at Chiloquin High School in Oregon.  As a junior she averaged 16 points per game in basketball and earned first team All-Leauge honors for the Southern Cascade League (Oregon).
