Prep Career:  Joyelle graduated from St. Mary’s High School and played four years of Varsity basketball.  As a sophomore Joyelle’s St. Mary’s team advanced to the California State Championship game for Division III at Arco Arena. .  Joyelle was a team captain for the Rams and helped lead them to Division III Norcals during her senior year (2006).  She was 1st Team All-League for the TCAL.  In addition to basketball Joyelle played three seasons of  water polo for the Rams.   She was a 1st Team All-League player during her junior (2005) and senior (2006) seasons.  As a junior Joyelle was honored with the Jester Club Award for her success in both the classroom and athletic competition at St. Mary’s High School

Personal:  Joyelle was born to Debbie and Phil Amick on December 26, 1988 in Stockton, California.  She began playing basketball when she was 6 years old attending basketball camps at Tokay High School.  When she is not playing hoops or playing water polo, she enjoys coaching youth sports and hanging out with friends.  Joyelle wants to earn her AA degree at Delta and transfer to a four-year university to pursue a degree in Dental Hygeine.  She would like to earn a scholarship in either basketball or water polo.  She recently finished her water polo season at Delta as the starting goalie.  She broke the Delta record with over 200 saves on the season and earned Big 8 Honorable Mention honors.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?  I used to jump off my roof into my pool

What would you spend your last $20 on?  FOOD

What is your best non-athletic talent?  I can dance

Who is the person you would most like to meet?  Larry Bird

Who is your hero and why?  My mom is the hardest worker I know and she shows me how to keep fighting for what I want.
