Andrea Rodriguez

Prep Career: Andrea “A Rod” played Varsity basketball at Sierra High for Coach Dan Cunial. As a junior in 2004-05 she was 1st team All-Valley Oak League, 1st Team All-Area, Manteca All-City, Tri Valley Herald Player of the Week, Manteca Bulletin Player of the Week, and named to the Valley Oak League Defensive Team. As a junior Andrea scored 18 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and led the league in 3 point shots made (50) and freethrow percentage (80%). As a senior, Andrea was only able to play half the season due to a knee injury. She was honored 2nd team All Valley Oak Leauge, 2nd team All- Area, Manteca All-City, Manteca Boys and Girls Club Female Athlete of the Year, Player of the Week for both the Tri-Valley Herald and Manteca Bulletin, and played in the San Joaquin All-Star game as a senior. Arod played for Robb Spencer of the Modesto Magic for four years and was an All-tournament selection for the Oregon Trail in 2005.
Personal: Andrea was born on January 10, 1988 to Vince and Julie Rodriguez in Alameda, California. When she is not playing hoops Andrea enjoys reading, watching movies, listening to music and shopping. She would like to continue playing basketball in college and hopes to earn a scholarship. Her goals include earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies and eventually become an elementary school teacher.

Who is your hero or idol and why? My sister Salina because she is very kind, upfront and a true person. She is a great mom and sister and I hope to be like her.

What is your best non-athletic talent? Writing poems
If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you do? Buy a house on the beach
If you could invite 5 people over for dinner, who would it be? My boyfriend, Simone Augustus, Ivory Latta, Michael Jordan and Diana Taurasi
