Amaris Sanders

Position:  Forward

Height:  6’0”

High School:  Modesto Chrisitian

Hometown:  Modesto

Major:  Psychology

Prep Career:  Amaris played her Senior season for Coach Robb Spencer at Modesto Christian High School.  She averaged 7 points per game, 8 rebounds and 2 steals as a senior.  Amaris helped lead her Modesto Christian team to become the 2006-07 Division V Section Champions.  In addition, they were the Trans Valley League Champions.  Amaris earned a first quarter 4.0 Award as a senior and held a 3.8 GPA in 2006-07.  As a junior she played Varsity basketball at Modesto High and was a 2nd team All-League forward for the Modesto Metro Conference.  Amaris also played two years of club basketball for the Modesto Magic travel team for Coach Robb Spencer.

 

Personal:  Amaris was born on September 12, 1989 to Jerry Sanders and Xilonen Martinez in Modesto, California.  During her free time she enjoys hanging out with friends and singing.   Amaris would like to transfer to a four-year institution and continue playing basketball by earning a scholarship.  After earning a BA on Psychology Amaris would like to be a social worker to help others.

What is your favorite basketball achievement?  Winning CIF Section Championship at Arco Arena my senior year.

What is your basketball goal?  To be the best I can be and  have my education paid for.

Who has most influenced your basketball career?  Robb Spencer because he has taken his time to make me a better player.

Favorite Movie:  Finding Nemo

What is your most embarrassing basketball memory?  Scoring on the opposite team’s basket.

What is one word to best describe yourself?  HUMBLE

If you could be on the cover of any magazine, what would it be?  Cosmo

If you could invite 5 people to dinner, who would it be?  Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, and Robb

What is your best non-athletic talent?  Being super respectful of other people.
