LADY MUSTANGS Delta Women beat Ohlone College Saturday to advance to State Tournament March 13-15th Despite only playing 16 minutes due to foul trouble Jessica Dela Cruz finished with 21 points and freshman Vintea Georges had a double - double 14 points and 11 rebounds. It was a solid team effort as Delta's bench played intense defense while three starters sat on the bench due to foul trouble. The Mustangs (#2) will play Antelope Valley (#3) Friday at 3pm at Sellend Arena in Fresno. The Marauders cruised past the Mustangs in early pre-season with a 88-59 victory. See Article Delta (No. 2) will face Chabot College (No. 15) Saturday, February 28th at 5:30pm. Chabot beat Solano College 66-53 on Wednesday to advance to the top 16 in Northern California. The Lady Mustangs are coming off their 8th consecutive Conference Championship and are looking to advance to the Northern California Elite 8. They must first get past Chabot College who handed NorCal's #1 Seed San Francisco City their first loss of the season 96-81 on January 9th. The Delta Women beat Modesto JC 76-51 Friday, Feburary 20th to win another Big 8 Conference Championship. Despite beating Sierra on both occassions, the Mustangd will share the title due to their losses on the week 6 of conference play. See Box Score Delta faces Modesto JC tonight to decide the Big 8 Conference Championship. The Lady Mustangs beat Sierra College for the 2nd time this season 69-61 to stay tied for the Conference lead. Sierra plays American River tonight and if both teams win the Lady Mustangs will be Co-Champions of the Big 8. Tip-off is at 6pm vs. Modesto JC in Blanchard Gym. Delta beat Modesto 79-50 on January 27th in Modesto. -2/20/09 DELTA beats American River College 70-35 tonight at Blanchard Gym. Keisha Leggs scored a season-high 16 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds. Natalie Montes scored 14 and had 7 rebounds to help the Mustangs continue their winning streak in the Big 8 Conference. See Box Score The Lady Mustangs start the 2nd Round of Big 8 Conference play tonight against American River College. Delta is 7-0 and 22-4 overall ranked #1 in Northern California in a poll out this week. see game memo
