Mr. Ben Beam
Animal Science / Animal Science Husbandry


Mr. Beam has been teaching at Delta for many years and enjoys watching his students learn. Mr. Beam participates in many events that help to benefit the students and college. Watch for him at State Livestock Competitions and Delta's infamous Annual Steak and Oyster / Silent Auction Dinner.
Todd Burnett Mr. Todd Burnett
Agriculture / Plant Science


Mr. Todd Burnett teaches courses in AG Business and Plant Science. He holds an A. A. degree from SJDC, a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science from the University of California, Davis in Agricultural Economics. Born to four generations of farmers in the Lodi area, Mr. Burnett carries on the family tradition of farming vineyard and raising livestock near Lockeford, CA. Prior to teaching, he traveled nationwide promoting, judging, and marketing purebred sheep. He brings a wealth of firsthand experience and hands on learning into the classroom.
Mr. Dan Carter
Heavy Equipment / Diesel Technology


Mr. Dan Carter joined the Delta team in 2002 and we are glad to have him aboard! Dan holds a certificate in Diesel Technology and is currently earning his Master's Degree in Education. Prior to coming to Delta College, Dan was a adjunct instructor in Diesel Technology for 4 years.  He is knowledgeable and enthusiastic, something his students are grateful for. He is also involved in the Caterpillar ThinkBig Program.
Mr. Roger Crawford
Engineering /Engineering Technology


Mr. Roger Crawford enjoys teaching so much that not only is he a respected and long time teacher here at San Joaquin Delta College, but he also teaches as an adjunct instructor at the University of the Pacific.  He is also a registered Professional Engineer in California and Nevada.  Mr. Crawford is involved in the annual Math and Science Challenge as well as engineering events for the high school students within the community.
Rich Dettloff Mr. Richard Dettloff
Fluid Power Technology


Mr. Richard Dettloff teaches students all they would ever want to know about Fluid Power. He is well educated in this discipline and dedicated to sharing his knowledge with students. Mr. Dettloff is also part of the Caterpillar ThinkBig Program.
Mr. David Dodson
Natural Resources / Plant Science


Mr. David Dodson has been teaching at Delta for over 7 years. He is an instructor that believes in experiential learning. He demonstrate this by taking students on field trips throughout the year and engaging students in hands on Lab learning experiences.
Jeff Hislop Mr. Jeff Hislop
Correctional Science


Mr. Jeff Hislop was once a Lieutenant with the Sheriff's Department and is now sharing his experiences and knowledge with students interested in the area of Correctional Science and Administration of Justice! Of course, he balances his career with relaxation and if not in the classroom he can be found taking in the scenery while cruising on his Harley Davidson!
Bennett Howser Mr. Bennett Howser
Engineering / Engineering Technology


Ben received his BS and MS in Engineering & Applied Sciences from Yale University, and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University.  He spent 24 years in industry as an engineer and manager, primarily in flat metal processing (ALCOA, Steel Technologies),  metal tubing manufacturing (Norandal, Wheatland Tube Co.), and heat exchanger manufacturing (G&O Mfg, JB Radiator Specialties).  Ben will be teaching both E-Tech and Engineering Classes.  He is looking forward to building more bridges between the program and local industries, to ensure that Delta students fulfill the needs of the local companies and organizations, and to help our graduating students find employment.
John Larson, Engineering Instructor Mr. John Larson
Engineering / Engineering Technology


Mr. John Larson has worked over 25 years at San Joaquin Delta College and prior to that he taught high school students for 10 years. Mr. Larson's dedication to education is clear! He also participates in community events such as the annual Math, Science and Engineering Day, VICA as well as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Events.
Alberto Luna

Mr. Alberto Luna
Automotive Technology

Mr. Luna is a recent addition to our full time faculty at Delta College. He is a graduate from the Delta College Automotive Technology Program. Mr. Luna has many years of experience in the field while working for a G. M. dealership and the City of Stockton fleet maintenance department.  He returns to Delta to share his wealth of knowledge in the automotive technology field with his students.

Larry Mariani Mr. Larry Mariani
Auto Body Technology


Mr. Mariani is a recent addition to our Auto Body Technology Program as a full time instructor.  Prior to joining our ranks he has operated a highly successful auto body repair facility in Stockton.  He looks forward to sharing his experience and knowledge with his students.
Scot Martin Mr. Scot Martin
Heating and Air Conditioning Technology


Mr. Scot Martin graduated from Delta College's HVAC program and continued his education at CSU Fresno in Industrial Technology. He has earned many certifications and with his knowledge and skills began his own business. He has now returned to Delta as a full time instructor, offering his expertise to the students in the same program in which he graduated.
Mr. Craig McAlister
Automotive Technology - Electric


Mr. Craig McAlister's knowledge and skills are a gold mine for the college! He is involved in many Automotive endeavors such as the GMASEP program, SMOG certifications, and the Automotive Auxiliary Foundation. His participation in a students education is intense and well respected.
Mr. Michael O'Rourke
Architectural Drafting


Mr. O'Rourke has completed 20+ years of service at Delta College. Prior to being a teacher at Delta he owned his own business engaged in architectural design and general contracting. His knowledge is a true asset to the students within the Architectural program.
Larry Paulsen, Ag Engineering Instructor Mr. Larry Paulsen
AG Engineering / Small Engine


Mr. Larry Paulsen can be seen running around on campus, not because he is over 6' tall, but because he is active with many events in addition to his teaching assignments. Larry Paulsen is a member of the Agriculture Foundation and the Caterpillar ThinkBig Program.
Ken Pekarek, Diesel Instructor Mr. Ken Pekarek

Mr. Ken Pekarek, known to his students as "Mr. P", can often times be found in, under, or near a diesel engine as he teaches students in the Diesel Technology Program. Mr. P is also active in the yearly VICA and the ASE Mini Baja competitions all over the state and he is part of the Caterpillar ThinkBig Program.
Rodger Richerson Mr. Rodger Richerson
Construction Technology


Mr. Rodger Richerson has a wealth of experience in the Construction Technology field. He has traveled all over the world working on projects pertaining to this industry. These experiences and his knowledge are what he offers to the students that enroll in the Construction Technology Program.
Mr. Ted Roach
Automotive Technology - Engine


Mr. Ted Roach works side by side with his students whether that be rolling under or leaning over a car! His automotive experience and knowledge is vast and shared with his students as they work through the Automotive Technology curriculum. Mr. Roach is also involved with the Automotive Auxiliary Foundation. He is absolutely an asset to the college and the students.

Mr. Charlie Robinson, "Charlie", is a heavy investor into student education. Aside from his regular teaching assignments, Charlie Robinson also invests his time into extracurricular activities such as the Mini Baja and ASME competitions that can take his team of students all over the United States!
Alex Taddei Mr. Alex Taddei
Welding Technology


Mr. Taddei comes to Delta College with 30 + years experience as a Welding Supervisor, Maintenance Technician, and as our adjunct faculty instructor since 2001.  Alex is a graduate of Delta College with an A. A. degree in Industrial Technology and a certificate in Fluid Power. He holds a certificate in Communication and Supervision from UOP.  Alex has earned two certifications from the American Welding Society as a Welding Inspector (1987 - present) and a Welding Educator (1992 - present).
Mr. David Terry
Administration of Justice


Mr. Terry has taught at the community college level since 1993 at (4) previous colleges: Laney; Las Positas, Merritt, and Chabot. He has additionally taught in the for profit sector of education at ITT Technical Institute. Mr. Terrry has taught in the areas of social science, history, physical education, and administration of justice. His professional work experience includes Alameda County Probation, and the United States Marine Corps.

Horticulture


Mr. Michael Toscano takes pride in the students that enter the Horticulture Programs, teaching them all he knows about landscaping, floral design, ornamental horticulture and more. You can visit Mr. Toscano and his students when visiting the Nursery or attending one of his annual plant sales!
Salvador Vargas Mr. Salvador Vargas
Electronics Technology / Cisco


Mr. Salvador Vargas is a Delta College Alumni and has returned to share his knowledge and experience. Teaching out at the Tracy Learning Center, Mr. Vargas helps students get the knowledge they need to be able to earn a variety of certifications that are essential in the world of electronics.
Duane Wright Mr. Duane Wright
Electronics Technology / Robotics


Mr. Duane Wright teaches his students the ins and outs of Cisco Networking. He is extremely knowledgeable in the field and has kept abreast of new technology and certifications as they are developed.
Mary Jo Zimmerman Ms. Mary Jo Zimmerman
Electrical Technology


Ms. Zimmerman began teaching at Delta College in the Fall of 2007.  She holds a B. S. in Vocational Education and is a Journeyman card holder in the state of Michigan, as well as various certifications in the electrical field.  She has also taught in high schools, trade schools and colleges in Michigan.  Ms. Zimmerman's knowledge and dedication is a key component for the continued success of the electrical program and the students.
