Please note we will train. Knowledge of the below job description and duties is not required, just and eagerness to learn. Under the direction of the Director or Supervisor, perform skilled and technical duties related to the construction and development of stage sets or costumes; perform duties related to sound and lighting system operation. Essential responsebilities and duties may include, but are not limited not, the following: 1. Assist with ensuring a safe and comfortable theatre operation. 2. Assist with operational activities including setup, run, and/or strike of shows and events. 3. Construct stage sets, flats, properties or stage costumes. 4. Prepare or modify working plans, drawings and light plots for specific situations. 5. Mix and apply paints and flame proofing to sets. 6. Check the stage and production areas for safety hazards and maintain health and safety standards in these areas and in operation of scene shop and costumes shop equipment. 7. Rig curtains and operate and maintain stage counter weight system. 8. Operate stage equipment, lighting, sound systems, digital projection equipment and costume shop or scene shop equipment as required. |

Minimum Qualifications: |
|||
QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of the following: Types and uses of lighting, sound, counter weight and other stage and costume equipment. Basic electrical theory, sound and lighting effects. How to setup and run digital video presentations. Basic carpentry, painting and other skills required in set construction. Sound effect techniques. Health and safety regulations. Ability to: Perform skilled and technical duties related to the construction and development of stage set or costumes. Exercise safe practices in the performance of job duties. Construct and paint stage sets or theater costumes. Improvise theater properties, costumes, and other stage effects. Maintain records of equipment and supplies. Operate and oversee the use of stage equipment including projectors, lighting and sound system, costume shop or scene shop equipment. Operate hand and power tools. Work Cooperatively with others. WORKING CONDITIONS Environmental Conditions: Lift, push, pull and load a variety of materials and equipment associated with theater production. May, at times, operate highpowered machinery requiring protective gear. Will work occasionally with paints, dyes, varnishes, and other toxic materials. Physical Conditions: Essential functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing, sitting, climbin, stooping and bending for prolong periods of time
