We, the members of For Goodness Sake, are proud Americans who gather together to find and fill needs, show support, and share love and gratitude for our Active Military, Reservists, and Veterans and others in need.

The Blanket Brigade

• Make blankets to give to Soldier's Angels to be included in the backpacks provided to wounded soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan
• Community Education Program will offer a workshop taught by Mary Chisholm for sewing easy quilts for this project
  • For the Quilt:
    2 yards batting
    total 4 yards fabric (can be 2 yards print and 2 yards solid or all the same)

  • For the Quillow:
    2 1/2 yards batting
    total 5 yards fabric (can be 2 1/2 yards print and 2 1/2 solid or all the
    same)

  • For the walker/wheelchair totes:
    1/2 yard 60in wide fabric or 3/4 yard 45in wide fabric
    thread

Cards & Letters

• On an ongoing basis, we will mail cards and letters to wounded soldiers through out the country

Books for Troops

• Collect books and books on tape to provide to troops

Stand Down for Veterans

• Participating in the second annual activity to provide backpacks including blankets to homeless veterans

Fisher House

• Partner with Fisher House to meet the needs of military families displaced by injury. Fisher House provides "a home away from home" for America's military in their time of need. Fisher House enables family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful time -- during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury.
