• Fast growing suburban areas, inner city schools, and rural areas will all experience large enrollment increases with most districts having the greater need for teachers in the subject areas of math, science, and special education.

• Teachers that are geographically mobile and that can teach in more than one area will have a distinct advantage. Some districts even offer incentives such as loan forgiveness and assistance in home buying to attract more qualified teachers.

• As our nation becomes increasingly diverse, there is a need for math teachers who reflect the diversity of the student population. The need is worldwide, making teaching math a mobile career.
