Applying for a Tutoring Position

Tutoring is offered in Math, Science, Reading, Writing, Study Skills, Content Subjects, and ESL.
Position requirements and responsibilities vary with the area you are working in.
Check the Tutor Qualifications below::
Complete the following steps and paperwork:
NOTE: If you are not taking 9 units during the current semester, you are considered a non-student employee for that semester, and you must be approved to work by the Board of Trustees at their next scheduled meeting. This may delay the start of your tutoring.
Once approved for tutoring at Delta College, all new tutors are required to enroll in English 32A, 32B, or 32C or Math 32 for a one-unit tutor training course. The Learning Centers Coordinator is your instructor. You will work on the packet and submit your assignments individually. There will be 2 - 3 face-to-face training sessions with the instructor. You should complete the course during your first semester of tutoring.
For questions, please contact Nina O'Connell, Learning Centers Coordinator at 209-954-5256 or email noconnell@deltacollege.edu.
