Reading/Writing Learning Center

Mission

Our mission is to provide a student-centered learning environment designed to support Delta College students in their short and long-term educational goals.  We believe that by assisting students in developing effective study habits and learning techniques specific to the subjects being studied, they will gain confidence, independence and success as they work towards their course goals.  The Reading and Writing Labs use integrated curricula that help students focus on the processes of reading and writing as well as skills development.  Through content tutoring emphasizing learning styles and strategies, students discover effective methods for dealing with course material.

• Provide a safe and encouraging environment for students
• Provide a centrally-located, clean, well furnished and staffed facility
• Provide a facility staffed with trained professionals and paraprofessionals
• Provide formal tutor training for all peer tutors
• Provide information and incorporate faculty feedback into the RWLC planning process
