Public Shows will be offered 1 weekend a month on Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 PM. The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children, seniors, and students. For special needs assistance please contact us 48 hours in advance.
The November 20 and December 18 shows coincide with the Sky Tours hosted by the Stockton Astronomical Society. Sky Tours is a star party open to the public where you can observe through telescopes and observe the night sky. This event is held in the Shima 2 parking lot and is free. November 20 & 21 Witness the formation of the early universe, star birth and death, the collision of giant galaxies, and a simulated flight to a supermassive black hole lurking at the center of our own Milky Way Galaxy. This will be followed by a tour of the night sky. See the stars, constellations, and planets visible in the sky tonight. |

December 4,5,6,11,12,13,18,19,20 The full dome video will
take us on a journey back 2000 years to Bethlehem as we seek to discover
a scientific explanation for the Star the wise men followed to find the baby
Jesus. We’ll investigate possible dates for the birth of Christ and look at The star program will show some of the events discussed in the video, and will also include a tour of the current Christmastime sky, and a discussion of how the sky has changed in the last 2000 years. |
