Performing Ensembles The Department of Music maintains many performing ensembles that provide enrichment opportunities for all Delta College students.

Large Performing Ensembles

Concert Choir

The Delta College Concert Choir stresses the art of singing in a large choral ensemble. Choral masterworks for large choir are selected from the repertoire of all historical periods. The choir is open to all Delta students and tours annually.

Symphonic and Concert Bands

The wind and percussion program includes several large ensembles for music majors and non-majors alike. The Delta College Symphonic Band is a non-marching organization dedicated to the rehearsal and performance of symphonic band literature. The Delta College Symphonic Band tours annually as well as performs regularly in the Stockton area both on and off campus. The Stockton Concert Band and the Lodi Community Band are also affiliated with the college and offer opportunities for the community musician to continue their music-making and musical development through regular rehearsal and performance of wind literature.

Jazz Bands

Three Jazz Bands provide the opportunity to perform "Big Band" jazz of all types. The Delta College Jazz Band and Studio Bands perform regularly with top-name guest artists from the jazz world in the Delta Jazz Series as well as at other concerts, tours, and festivals.

Small Performing Ensembles

Small performing ensembles provide students with the opportunity to develop specialized musical skills while often playing in one-to-a-part situations.

Delta Singers

Delta Singers is a small chamber choir of the finest singers that performs choral music written for the small vocal ensemble. The Delta Singers performs a variety of types and styles of music in many forums throughout the community and state.
