Math Engineering Science Achievement
California Community College Program
Delta's MESA program provides academic support to first generation, low income college students in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) as they move towards transfer to four-year institutions. We are part of a statewide continuum of services funded through : K-12 through 4-year universities with sister programs at 33 community colleges, 9 CSU and UC campuses throughout California and at the University of the Pacific, in Stockton. MESA is administered through the University of California.
While providing direct academic support through tutoring, workshops, study groups and book/equipment loans, the MESA Center is a hub of activity where like-minded students form long-lasting bonds with peers in their fields of study; the core of MESA's mutual support, encouragement and motivation.
MESA students receive multiple opportunities to meet professionals in the field, participate in STEM focused university tours and visits to industry, build networks and join national organizations that broaden resources and expand opportunities for STEM majors.
In 2012 MESA had its largest transferring class and the first group of undergraduate STEM majors selected for highly competitive research placements in prestigious universities across the country. MESA students also received over $100,000 in scholarship monies as a direct result of extensive community service, effective training and intentionally structured contact with relevant resources.
If you are considering Math, Engineering or any of the Sciences as a potential major, please contact us for more information on becoming a MESA student.
Congratulations to all our Graduates and Transferring Students!
