Suzanne Coleman

Suzanne Coleman joined San Joaquin Delta College in 2009. Suzanne has more than twenty years of experience in the educational field serving as a teacher, a disabilities specialist, an education consultant and, most recently as the Assistant Director for the county wide Head Start program serving more than three thousand children from birth through age five.
Suzanne received her B.A. in Liberal Studies, with an emphasis in History from California State University, Stanislaus and her M.A. in Human Development with a Specialization in Early Childhood Education from Pacific Oaks College. She also has a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Suzanne’s teaching interests include early childhood curricular practices, especially science, math, language and literacy practices, as well as social justice and diversity.
Suzanne is an active participant in the local early childhood scene, belongs to the CAEYC, serves as the local Coordinator of the California Early Childhood Mentor Teacher Program and serves as a member of the Local Child Care Planning Council. In her spare time, Suzanne enjoys reading, walking, cooking healthfully and traveling, especially to warm locales.

Cindy Cundiff-Wray

Cindy Cundiff-Wray is currently adjunct faculty teaching Children with Special Needs and Assessment and Observation. Cindy also teaches infant/toddler classes and a lab at Modesto Junior college. She graduated from SJ Delta college and pursued her Bachelor degree in Child Development at CSU Sacramento where she also worked in the campus children's center. After taking off one year to teach for Stockton Unified, she earned a Master of Science in Child Development from U.C. Davis and was the Head Teacher in the UCD lab school. Cindy has over 32 years experience working with young children and their families in programs ranging from Head Start to the French Camp migrant programs and positions from teacher to Stanislaus County Education coordinator.

Dr. Vivian Harper

Vivian has been teaching at Delta College since 1991 and has been working in the field of early childhood education since 1973. During that time, she has worked in a variety of child development settings including campus child care, state-funded child development centers and laboratory schools, military child care, resource and referral and teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in both public and private colleges. She has also written grants and conducted child care planning studies for cities and counties.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, traveling, strumming on a guitar and writing. She starts each morning with an hour-long walk and an Americano. Her most meaningful personal challenge is that she is a cancer survivor, proud to wear a pink ribbon.

Franzi Lilly-Rockey has worked in the field of child development since 1976 as an educator in the San Joaquin County Head Start Program. She is currently teaching Child and Adolescent Development and Child, Family and Community. Franzi has also taught Early Childhood courses for the B.A. Cohort in Early Child Development with National University. Courses included: Child and Adolescent Development, Children with Special Needs, Physical Environment for Young Children, Individualized Early Childhood Studies, and Curriculum for ECE. She has also taught for the County Office of Education’s Apprenticeship Program in Child Development. After attending SJ Delta College, she pursued her Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies with a Concentration in Early Childhood Development at California State University, Stanislaus. While working full time and raising a family, she earned a Masters in Education: Curriculum and Technology from University of Phoenix. Franzi has presented locally, state-wide and nationally at conferences such as NAEYC State Conferences and Head Start National Conferences for day care providers, family service workers, early childhood teachers on topics including: Brain Development, Math & Science for Young Children and Literacy. She has also written grants and is a current member of several councils and task-forces in the community as an advocate for children and families.
