Bio:  
Bruce is married with three grown children. He retired in 2003 from Modesto Police Department as a Lieutenant and began teaching at Delta 1999 as an adjunct instructor.  He was hired as a full-time instructor in 2005. His primary assignment is coordinating the POST academy.

David Bentz

David E. Bentz is a retired Police Captain from the Stockton Police Department and has twenty-eight years of law enforcement experience with that agency.  David’s last assignment was as the commander of the Investigations Division.  David is responsible for introducing and implementing Problem Oriented Policing strategies
at the Stockton Police Department.   He received his Associate in Arts degree from Sacramento City College, graduating with Distinction.  He received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento.  David received his Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from California State University Sacramento, completing his thesis on Community Based Policing, and his Master of Science in Management Science from California State Polytechnic University Pomona.

David graduated from the 173rd session of the FBI National Academy and graduated from the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, Command College Class 21.

David is a part-time instructor at San Joaquin Delta College, where he teaches criminal justice courses.

David has published articles in The Journal of California Law Enforcement, FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin, League of California Cities' Western City and The Police Chief.

David is active in the Stockton community.  He has twice served as President of the Leadership Stockton Alumni Association, is former Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Children's Museum of Stockton, and a former Board Member of the Senior Service Agency of San Joaquin, the Hospice of San Joaquin, and Stockton Sunrise Rotary.

Paul Pedersen
Bio:

Paul began his professional career when he was hired in1983 by the Tracy Police Department as a patrol officer.  He worked there until his retirement in 2010 and held many jobs within the department.  Among them were Field Training Officer, Crisis Negotiator and School Resource Officer.  In 1990, Paul was asked to teach a class at the Delta College Police Academy, and he continues to teach there now.  He also began teaching Administration of Justice classes when the  Tracy campus opened and has been an adjunct instructor there ever since.  His passion is to enrich the lives of young people in a positive way and to further their educational goals.  He lives in Tracy with his wife Maggie and they have four children and four grandchildren to keep them busy.

Jared Zwickey
Adjunct Associate Professor
Bio:
   B.A., Golden Gate University, San Francisco, California

Jared Zwickey is an Associate Professor in the Administration of Justice Discipline.  He is a graduate of Golden Gate University, the FBI Academy, and the California Command College.  He was the Director of Police Services at the Stockton Campus for the past fourteen years.  Jared has over thirty-eight years law enforcement experience as a law enforcement trainer, a police chief, middle manager, supervisor and officer with several California Police Agencies.  He currently teaches administration of justice classes at the Mountain House campus and firearms in the Police Academy.
