Consider attending an information session offered by the Director of Health Sciences. The schedule is available on the department web page and in the nursing department office.

Review your own personal commitments regarding work hours, other family responsibilities, and personal goals.

Review the information on criminal background clearance and determine if this will be an inhibiting factor in completing vocational nursing education training.

Order official transcripts from all of the colleges you have attended except SJ Delta College. Transcripts will need to be should you be chosen to submit documentation.

Complete college assessment testing to determine placement in college courses.

Schedule an appointment with a counselor to select courses, determine course completion timelines, and schedules.

Complete all prerequisite courses.

If selected, complete the Acceptance/Refusal process prior to and no later than the stated deadline.

Enroll in Vocational Nursing 1 and Vocational Nursing 2 on your registration date and time.

Complete and submit all clinical requirements by the stated deadline:
• Physical exam
• Immunizations
• Professional level CPR
• Malpractice insurance
• Purchase skills lab kit
• Fees for background check
• Fees for Assessment Testing System

Attend the Welcoming Reception hosted by senior students.

Purchase course syllabi, textbooks, uniforms, etc.

Review schedules for first day and first week of first semester nursing courses.

Attend classes on a regurla basis.
