Students are required to write essays, submit homework assignments that require critical thinking, and complete a research paper. This course provides a comparative analysis of different kinds of political systems; their history, political institutions, processes and policies; the environments in which they occur and their consequences. Topics to be examined include: political power, political culture and socialization, participation in politics, governmental structures, democratization, economic policies and development.
