This course is a survey lecture course that examines the social, political, economic, and cultural history of Asian immigrants and Asian Americans in the United States from the annexation of California to the present. Major themes include the immigration patterns, occupational patterns, community formation, race relations, and California state and local government policies. (UC, CSU)
