DIGITAL
ART AND IMAGERY
San Joaquin Delta College extends its
Fine Arts Division offerings to include an exciting program in Graphic
Arts, which evolved from our earlier Printing Technology program.
Digital art, imagery, and electronic
publication have expanded the traditional technologies of print
and visual communication.
Delta responds with a curriculum designed
to prepare students to succeed as skilled workers with creative
energy. Delta's Department of Graphic Arts moves its students into
this new age with challenging courses and opportunities for personal
exploration.
THE
LAB
The graphics lab offers state-of-the-art
computer workstations on both the Mac and PC platforms, current
versions of software and personalized instruction.
Students progress through project levels
based on their individual levels of experience, and create portfolios
reflecting their growth and skills.
Field trips and independent studies
round out the program. Students may attain a Graphic Arts Certificate
of Achievement. Courses may also be transferable to four-year universities
for Bachelors' degree programs.

San Francisco Art Institute with subsequent teaching certification
in Printing and Graphics as well as Electronic Technology. She has
over 26 years' experience, and has been teaching adults for over
18 years. She brings all this and more to the classroom, beyond
simply instructing from a book.
Melanie first came to San Joaquin Delta
College as the Print Technology instructor three years ago. She
was instrumental in developing the new Graphic Arts Program, which
she now teaches full time. As a highly proficient electronics technician,
she also installs and maintains the graphic lab's software and computers
