HOW DO I ENROLL IN THE GED PROGRAM? The GED office is located in Holt 244. Office hours are Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm; Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. The telephone number is: (209) 954-5259

Requirements to enroll in GED classes:
  • Student must be 17 years of age or older
Procedures to enroll in GED classes:
  • Student must complete the on-line Delta College admission forms by accessing the Delta College website, www.deltacollege.edu
  • Student should call the GED office to find out when the next set of classes will be starting.
  • Student needs to pick up a GED student application in the GED office located in Holt 244.
  • Student needs to return the completed GED student application to the GED office once he/she has completed the on-line admission forms. The GED office will provide the student with information on the classroom locations, hours and name of instructor/s and how to register for the GED class.
Procedures for 17 year old students:
  • Student must complete the on-line Delta College admission forms by accessing the Delta College website, www.deltacollege.edu
  • Student should call the GED office to find out when the next set of classes will be starting.
  • Student needs to pick up a GED student application in the GED office located in Holt 244.
  • Student needs to provide proof of not being currently enrolled in any other school. This proof must come from the last school the student attended indicating the last day of attendance. The information should be submitted at the time the student submits the GED student application. The proof can also be faxed to the GED program at (209) 954-5600. The GED office will not accept the GED student application without having proof of the last day of enrollment.
  • Student must complete the Eligibility to Test form available in the GED office.
  • Student needs to return the GED student application with the signature of a parent or guardian to the GED office after completing the admission forms on-line. Thereafter, the student will receive information on the classroom locations, hours and names of instructor/s and how to register for the GED class.
General Information
  • Delta College is not an official GED testing site.
  • 17-year-old students must take their GED exams at Stockton School for Adults.
  • Students who are 18 years of age or older can take their GED exams at any GED testing site including Stockton School for Adults.
  • The GED program does not issue work permits to 17-year-old students. Work permits must be obtained at the last school of enrollment.
  • The GED classes are free of charge, non-credit classes.
  • A GED textbook is used in the classroom and for homework assignments. It is highly recommended that the student purchase the textbook in the Delta College Bookstore.
What happens after I pass my GED exams? Once you turn in your GED test results to the GED office you will be invited to participate in the GED graduation ceremony, which takes place at the end of every school year. We also encourage you to see a counselor and set your educational goals and hopefully continue with your education at Delta College.
