The Federal Pell Grant and the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) are available during the summer. In order to receive aid for one of these programs, a student must:
- Be in good academic standing. (You are not eligibile if you are currently on probation for semester(s) prior to the Spring semester). In addition, your Spring grades must be confirmed first prior to determining your eligibility for Summer aid. If the student becomes disqualified as a result of Spring progress the student cannot receive summer funding.
- You must have an unmet need as determined by your award letter.
- For a Pell grant, you must have remaining Pell eligibility for the 2007/08 school year. The Federal Pell Grant Program has an annual limit on the amount a student can receive during an academic year. A full-time student may have exhausted program eligibility during the fall and spring semesters. As a result, students who have already received a full-time Pell Grant for the Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 semesters, are not eligible for a Summer Pell Grant.
- For a Summer SEOG award, funding is limited and on a first come first serve basis. Students can only receive SEOG if there is no remaining Pell eligibility left . Summer SEOG amounts will be $300 per student for 6 or more units, if the student meets SEOG funding requirements.
Note: Students cannot receive both a Pell Grant and SEOG grant during the summer session.
