| ANSWERS |
In subsequent semesters an EOPS student may enroll in as few as 6 units and still maintain their EOPS eligibility. Students who wish to enroll in less than 12 units should work closely with their EOPS Counselor to ensure they understand the impact of their reduced loads on their EOPS eligibility, financial aid eligibility, and educational planning. Students with physical and learning disabilities may enroll in as few as 6 units, as recommended by the office, with whom they must be registered. |

3. Does not having a high school diploma or GED disqualify me from being in the EOPS Program? EOPS students are not required to have a high school diploma or GED in order to qualify for EOPS. Not having a high school diploma or GED will affect a student's eligibility for federal financial aid. The federal government requires, as a condition of receiving federal financial aid that students have a GED or high school diploma or that they take and pass the Ability to Benefit examination, which is administered in the Delta College Assessment Center. 4. If I am disqualified from the Delta College Financial Aid Program, as a result of a defaulted student loan or being placed on financial aid disqualification as a result of academic or progress probation, will also lose my eligibility for EOPS? No. Financial aid disqualification means disqualification from EOPS financial grants, but not necessarily disqualification from receiving EOPS economic services. Back to top |
5. What is EOPS Conditional Admission? A student admitted to the EOPS Program with less than a cummulative 2.0 grade point average, is admitted conditionally to EOPS and must complete the semester with a minimum of 9 units with a term grade point average of 2.0 or better. An EOPS student who fails to meet the conditional admission terms is disqualified at the close of the semester in which they were "conditionally" admitted. Back to top |
