Specialized Instruction



San Joaquin Delta College believes that students with disabilities should be able to enroll in regular college classes whenever possible. Our support-services are designed to provide access to regular instruction. However, in some cases it is necessary to provide instruction tailored to the special needs of students with Developmental or Physical Disabilities. The following list is an overview of specialized classes designed to meet those special needs.

 

DSPS/SPECIAL EDUCATION CLASSES:

 

Community Living Skills-Resource Awareness

Community Living Skills-Survival Math

Community Living Skills-Survival Reading

Sign Language for Students With Special Needs.

Health Education for Developmentally Disabled

Contract Vocational Courses with Goodwill Industries

 

FAMILY, CONSUMER & HEALTH SCIENCES DIVISION:

Nutrition and Cooking Skills for students with Developmental Disabilities

 

FINE AND PHYSICAL ARTS DIVISION:

Adapted Physical Education-Conditioning

Adapted Physical Education-Swimming

Adapted Physical Education-Par Course

Students must submit a signed Physicians Certificate Form in order to participate in the Adapted Physical Education classes listed above.
