If a student is unable to successfully complete a course required for an A.A. degree and/or a specific Certificate program as the result of a documented physical or learning disability, the student may file a General Petition requesting a course substitution. (A DSPS counselor can assist the student with the completion of the General Petition form.) The student should submit the completed General Petition form requesting the course substitution to the Office of the Vice President of Student Services. The Vice President, in consultation with an Academic Accommodations Advisory Committee, will make a determination regarding the accommodation request in a timely manner. If the student is not satisfied with the decision of the Vice President and wishes to appeal, he/she may file a student grievance according to District Policy #5460.
Please note: A course substitution granted by Delta College may not be accepted by any other institution of higher education.
