Major Competency The student, with the use of assistive/adaptive technology, will be able to access, understand, and use information in order to complete his/her academic and personal goals at Delta College.
DSPS activity DSPS will provide technology/learning evaluations to help students determine if any technology can help them be more successful at Delta College. DSPS will provide specialized training/courses in the use of assistive/adaptive technology. DSPS will provide opportunities for additional support activities and encourage students to participate in these programs. DSPS will provide equipment, space, and time for students to independently use their technology and perform related activities. DSPS will encourage students to advocate for additional technology services and courses for students with disabilities through DSPS and Delta College. Evaluation/Assessment Students will be encouraged to complete an assistive technology student survey to evaluate the effectiveness and usefulness of the High Technology Program. Students will be interviewed individually and in groups to evaluate their ability to access, understand, and use information that is needed to complege their academic and personal goals at Delta College. (Data from these interviews will be made available to students online. The data will also be presented at CSUN 2008 conference on Assistive Technology, March 2008)
