Major Competency The student will be able to identify educational barriers functional/educational limitations that result from his/her disability and possible accommodations and services they may need for equal access. DSPS activity The student will meet with a DSPS counselor for an intake appointment and there after meet at least once per semester to evaluate their disability related needs in the educational setting. The DSPS counselor and the student will evaluate the educational limitations and determine which DSPS services and accommodations would best provide equal access. The student will be given a copy of the Disability Accommodations Notice which lists the recommended services and accommodations. The student has access to all information, forms, and contacts through the accessible DSPS website. Evaluation/Assessment Students will meet with their DSPS counselor at least once per semester to update their file and review the use and effectiveness of the recommended accommodations. A survey will be distributed to students asking them to describe their functional/educational limitations and describe the service or accommodation they utilize. |
