Chair Exercises

Increase your flexibility, range of motion, and strength with this VERY low-impact workout.  There is no need to get down on the floor; all of the exercises are done sitting in a chair!  They are especially designed for the senior population who cannot get down on the ground and for anyone who doesn’t want to.  As we get older, unless we stay physically active, our joints and muscles can stiffen up from lack of use.  Avoid joint and muscle stiffness and pain by increasing and maintaining your flexibility.  You will also have better balance to help you avoid falls and other injuries.  These exercises are good for any ability level, even those recovering from injury.  (Be sure you have your doctor’s permission to participate.)  This workshop, led by Melissa Minjarez, will provide an overall body workout and exercise ALL of the major muscle groups from head to toe.
