Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register for a seminar or workshop?
You can register by downloading a registration form. You can then bring it in or mail it in. You can also come to the seminar or workshop and register at the class. However, some classes fill up quickly, and advance registration is recommended. Other classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment if not enough people register in advance.

All of the information on how and where to do this is included on the top of the registration form. You can access the registration form from this page by clicking on “Registration Form.”

(We are sorry, but we are not equipped to register online or on the phone at this time.)

How do I obtain a registration form?
You can download a registration form from this page by clicking on “Registration Form.” You can also find registration forms in the Delta Digest, which is available at most public libraries and at locations throughout the campus, including the Admissions Office in Holt 101. If you want to register in person, the Admissions Office has additional registration forms that you can use.

You can also call the Community Education Office at (209) 954-5013 to request either a Delta Digest or a registration form by mail.

Do I have to give my social security number when I register?

Delta College now uses a student identification number instead of a social security number.  You should provide your social security number the first time you register for a workshop. Your receipt will have your Delta I.D. number, which you can then use instead of your social security.

How do I register if I want to pay cash?
You can come to the campus and register in Holt 101, the Admissions Office. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can also go to the workshop and register there, but it’s best to pre-register to make sure that you get in to the class you want. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

How do I register if I want to write a check?
You can mail your registration form and your check made payable to Delta College to:
Delta College
Registration Office, Holt 101
5151 Pacific Ave.
Stockton, CA  95207

You can also visit the campus and drop your registration form in the drop box located in Holt 101, the Admissions Office. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can also go to the workshop and register there, but it’s best to pre-register to make sure that you get in to the class you want. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

How do I register if I want to pay by credit card?
We are sorry, but we cannot accept payment by credit card at this time.

Do I have to be admitted to Delta College in order to take Community Education classes?
No, you do not have to go through the admission process. All you have to do is fill out a registration form, which only asks for some basic information. Just fill out a registration form and pay the class fee.

Do I get college credit for Community Education classes?
No, you do not get credit for Community Education classes.  All of the workshops offered through Community Education are not-for-credit and are not graded. Community Education classes have been developed for specific needs or interests in the community, not for academic credit. There are usually no books to buy and no tests to take.

How often do classes meet?
Some classes meet only once, while others continue for up to 10 weeks. All of that information is included with the class description on the “Workshop Schedule” web page.

Are the same workshops offered every semester?
Some of the workshops are offered on a regular basis, but others may be offered only once, while still others may be offered just in the Spring or just in the Fall. If you are interested in a particular seminar or workshop and don’t see it listed on the Workshop Schedule, please send an e-mail to cmackey@deltacollege.edu or call the Community Education Office at (209) 954-5013 and ask about it. This is also a good way to let us know what you’re interested in learning!
