Are you thinking about purchasing an investment property?  Make sure the numbers work first!  Many California real estate investors are purchasing properties in other areas of the country.  It is important to do your homework before investing in or out of state.  Using simple computer software tools presented in this workshop, a real estate investor can learn how to make a “go/no go” investment decision in 30 minutes or less.  Topics such as the “Real Estate Return Trinity,” cash flow analysis, debt service ratio, maintenance reserves, and cap rates are also discussed.  Financing information is also presented for both single-family and multi-residential properties (5 units or more).

Notary Regulations:  The Secretary of State's office adopted regulations regarding mandatory notary education for notaries public effective July 1, 2005. Notaries are now required to satisfactorily complete a course of study approved by the Secretary of State prior to appointment as a notary public (Government Code section 8201).  

In this all-day worshop, y ou will be provided with the education and skills to help you pass the State Notary Public exam and become successful in a new business or career. Instruction includes identifying people and their documents, types of notarizations, and all State laws.  The seminar includes practical applications using checklists, advisements, and certificates. You'll receive the textbook, the State of California application packet, and handouts.

The Academy for Notaries is an approved vendor of notary education, and this notary course is approved by the Secretary of State for Notary Public education per mandated requirement effective July 1, 2005.

Optional:  This one-hour test will be administered by the California State Commission on Notaries following each of the classes listed above.  If you choose this option, you must bring two #2 pencils, an official picture I.D. (driver’s license, State I.D., or passport), and a check or money order in the amount of $40 made payable to the Secretary of State.
