Welcome to the CCRAA-STEM Grant Website

The College Cost Reduction and Access Act grant also referred to as the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics grant (STEM grant) was a two year grant *funded by the U.S. Department of Education from October 1, 2008- December 31, 2010. This grant ended on December 31, 2010. 

CCRAA-STEM grant goals included the following:

• To increase the number of Hispanic and low income students attaining STEM degrees.

• To develop model transfer and articulation agreements between 2 year HSI's and four year institutions in STEM fields.

CCRAA-STEM Grant Activities included the following:

• Direct Services
• Summer Bridge program  (summer 2009 & summer 2010)
• STEM Learning Communities (fall 2009, spring 2010, and fall 2010)

• Purchase of new equipment for STEM courses
• Meetings with 4-year institutions to develop articulation agreements in STEM fields

• Outreach
• In the community and on campus to promote STEM degrees and careers
• STEM Challenge (September 2009 & September 2010)
• Reopening of the George H. Clever Planetarium (October 2009)
