Kuali Financial System (KFS) is a modular accounting system that is being developed using the Community Source development model. In addition to San Joaquin Delta College, founding partners include Indiana University, Michigan State University, University of Arizona, Cornell University, University of Maryland, Colorado State University, the University of California–Davis, and the University of Southern California. Delta College is pleased and honored to be the only community college currently in the KFS Community and to have been the first, along with the University of Arizona, to “Go-Live” on July 1, 2009.

KFS was chosen to replace the legacy Oracle Financial system saving the college the costs of licensing fees and upgrades, and allowing us to invest those resources into a system that is being designed for colleges and universities by colleges and universities. Kuali allows us to integrate budget and accounting data, provides for a flexible chart of accounts, and automates approvals and notifications. Additionally, the Data Warehouse, a collection of better and more detailed business intelligence, will improve the college’s ability to make better business decisions.
