Registration Priority
The objective of priority registration is to give preference to students based on the variables listed below. The priority system gives a "weighted count" to each student. This is calculated automatically at the time a student is assigned a registration date and time.
Priority registration dates and times are based on Board Policy 5055 which includes the following factors:
- Number of Delta A.A.-Appropriate Units Completed:
01 - 15 = +5
16 - 30 = +10
31 - 45 = +20
46 - 60 = +30
61 - 75 = +30
76 - 90 = +20
91 - 100 = +10
101 - 110 = +5
More than 110 Units Completed = 0
- Highest Degree Earned or Eligible for:
Lower Priority will be assigned to students who have received a B.A./B.S. or higher degree at any accredited institution: B.A./B.S., Degree = -5 - Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA):
GPA multiplied by a pre-determined factor established by the Matriculation and Student Access Committee, with a maximum point value of 40:GPA of 0.00 to 0.99 multiplied by 1
GPA of 1.00 to 1.99 multiplied by 2
GPA of 2.00 to 2.99 multiplied by 5
GPA of 3.00 to 4.00 multiplied by 10
- Student Education Plan Completed:
Preference will be given to students who have filed a Student Education Plan (SEP) = +10 - Academic Rehabilitation:
Priority for completion of the rehabilitation process = +5 - Probation
- Progress Probation:
Lower priority if more than 50% of grades are "W", "I", or "NP" in consecutive semesters = -5 - Academic Probation:
Lower priority for students who are recorded as being on academic probation = -5
- Guidance Courses or Orientation:
Priority will be given to students who complete Guidance Courses or English 33A Study Skills and/or New Student Group Advising = +10 - Registered EOPS, DSPS, and CalWorks students, or student athletes In Good Standing = 100
- Identified Active or former member of the Armed Services = 100
- Verified Veteran Dependent = +5
