NURS 008 - Nursing of The Childbearing Family - Units 4
Prerequisites: NURS 6 and NURS 7 with a grade of "C" or better.
Limitations on Enrollment: Admission into the Associate Degree Nursing Program.
This course is designed to focus on the integration of wholistic concepts and principles from social, behavioral, and biological sciences to prepare students to provide nursing care for childbearing families in acute and home/community settings. Application of the nursing process in theoretical and clinical situations is utilized to promote and maintain wellness for antepartal, intrapartal, postpartal, neonatal, and intraconceptual families. Emphasis is placed upon the role of the nurse as a health educator. Current ethical-legal and health care issues are integrated in the course content. (CSU)
