NURS 093V - Work Experience: Associate Degree Nursing - Units 1-4
Prerequisite Skills: 1. The student must meet the entry skills appropriate for their nursing program and successfully complete the related class in which they are enrolled in order to receive credit for work experience.
Limitations on Enrollment: Students participating in the Nursing Work Experience Program must be enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing Program of Nursing 50. Students must have completed the appropriate semester of the program to qualify: Nurse Extern, Level 2 must have completed the first semester of the program and be enrolled in the second semester; Nurse Extern, Level 3 must have completed the second semester of the Associate Degree Nursing Program and be enrolled in the third semester; Nurse Extern Level 4 must have completed the third semester of the Associate Degree Nursing program and be enrolled in the fourth semester.
This course is designed to give the student college credit for on-the-job experience when correlated with a course relating to that job. The work experience course for students enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program will provide an opportunity for students to participate in relevant work experiences in health care facilities utilizing skills in which competency has been met in prior nursing courses. All students must demonstrate new and expanded learning experiences before being permitted to repeat work experience. The course may be repeated for a maximum total of sixteen units.
