American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) National Student Design CompetitionApplied Science & Technology Division (ETECH 045) San Joaquin Delta College students design and fabricate a mechanical device to compete with other colleges and universities. The description of the task to be performed is published each year and ASME student members world-wide work to design and fabricate the devices. Regional (California, Nevada, and Hawaii) and national competitions are held at selected university campuses. Prize money is awarded, including $3000 to the first-place team at the national event.
