MATH 020 - Finite Mathematics - Units 3
Prerequisites: MATH-082 Intermediate Algebra with a grade of "C" or better.
Prerequisite Skills: 1. Advisory The ability to read at a college level is recommended for this class.
This course is designed to fulfill the mathematics requirements of the student in business administration, management, life sciences, or social sciences. The course covers a variety of topics including linear modeling, matrix techniques for solving systems of linear equations, linear programming, elementary combinatorics, elementary probability and statistics, the mathematics of finance and Markov Chains. Application problems are emphasized throughout. Graphing calculators are used extensively. The TI-84 PLUS is used for instructor demonstrations. (UC, CSU, CAN MATH 12)
