Advisories: BIOL 023, BIOL 031, and BIOL 032 or BIOL 033 each with a grade of "C" or better.

This course provides an introduction to the etiology, pathogenesis, manifestations and treatment of disease in the human body. It provides a foundation for understanding general nursing practice, as well as other health care occupations. Cellular and tissue structure and function are addressed along with the role of the immune system in body defenses. Anatomy and physiology of each body system is reviewed. Abnormalities and disease processes for each system are covered. Both adult and major pediatric disorders are addressed.
