ENG 057 - Children's Literature - Units 3
Prerequisite Skills: Reading Level II upon entering the course, the student must be able to read at Reading Level II, performing the critical reading skills of analysis and synthesis, recognizing the author's purpose, drawing inferences, and making judgments of the content of the required texts.

This course is a survey of literature written for children. Through an exploration of children`s literature from various time periods, cultures, and genres, students will develop a criteria for evaluating the literary merit of these works. This course is intended for prospective teachers, ECE majors, parents, and anyone who is interested in learning about the literature written for children. (CSU)
