CalWORKs Program

The CalWORKs Program at San Joaquin Delta College is operated by the College who works closely with the Human Services Agency (HSA) and is not not funded by San Joaquin County. The program's purpose is to help students, who are receiving cash assistance from HSA, to be successful in achieving their educational goals.

The program provides assistance with applying for college admission and financial aid, preparing class schedules and registering for courses, referrals to on and off campus resources, free child care on campus, work study, employment preparation and advocacy to students' CalWORKs Case Managers.

The mission of the CalWORKs program at Delta College is to provide quality service and assist students receiving cash aid (TANF) from the Human Services Agency.

• To serve as advocates for CalWORKs students by openly communicating with their case managers.
• To recognize and understand the socio-economic and cultural diversity of our student population.
