Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Mini Baja Competition

Applied Science & Technology Division (E-Tech 70)

San Joaquin Delta College students design and fabricate a single-seat off-road racing vehicle to compete with over one hundred other colleges and universities. The competition includes producing a series of documents (design, cost analysis, safety), a sales presentation, and four racing events. The racing includes a hill climb, drag race, off-road obstacle course, and a four-hour endurance race. Students should have an interest in mechanical design and fabrication, be enrolled in E-Tech 70, be a SAE member, and must be willing to work in a group setting.
