Prerequisites

Prerequisites shall not state or imply that enrollment in a course is limited to specialized clientele, unless such limitation is specifically authorized by law.

1. Academic prerequisites for a course should be clearly related to course content and academic foundation of such course.
2. In activity or laboratory type courses, prerequisites may require demonstrated ability or technical performance to a level of proficiency to be determined by equitable District procedures. Experience requirements may not be established solely on the basis of "hours of exposure. (BP 5045)
